Boy Almost Drowns In Lake Maspenock: Police
Hopkinton police responded to a call about a nine-year-old boy who disappeared under the water in Lake Maspenock.
HOPKINTON, MA — A boy nearly drowned in Lake Maspenock on Sunday afternoon and was rescued by Hopkinton police. At 5:01 p.m. on Sunday, the Hopkinton Police Communication Center received several 911 calls reporting a boy had disappeared beneath the water in Lake Maspenock. The boy had been in the water at Sandy Beach on the west side of the lake, according to police.
Once police got on scene, witnesses helped them search the area where the boy was last seen. Within minutes, the boy was found and members of the Hopkinton Fire Department jumped into action, according to police
The nine year old boy was transported to Milford Regional Hospital. The boy was then transferred to Umass Hospital by helicopter for further care, according to police.
