Drought Kills Town's Christmas Tree; A New One to Be Planted
Sadly, the donated tree contracted a disease and died.

MILFORD, MA—It's hotter than 80 degrees, and still summer, but the Citizens for Milford wanted town folks to know that the Christmas tree they had donated to the town for the annual lighting contracted a disease and did not survive the drought.
The Parks Commission has removed the dead tree from Draper Park, and the group looks forward to planting a new tree (which has already been reserved) in the fall when the water ban has been released. The tree lightning ceremony is planned for Dec. 2.
