Field Of Flags To Return To Milford's Draper Memorial Park
The annual installation places American flags throughout the park to honor the service and sacrifice of veterans and active-duty military.

MILFORD, MA — Hundreds of flags could go up in Draper Memorial Park next month in honor of Memorial Day.
The Field of Flags display is set to return to commemorate the holiday. The annual installation, sponsored by Citizens for Milford and the Milford Corps of the Salvation Army, places American flags throughout the park to honor the service and sacrifice of veterans and active-duty military members.
Flags are also displayed each year for Independence Day and Veterans Day, with the Independence Day installation being expanded this year to mark the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.

Area residents, organizations and businesses are invited to sponsor a 3-foot-by-5-foot American flag, which will be flown on a 10-foot staff at Draper Memorial Park for a $40 donation.
Sponsors can choose to honor a veteran, living or deceased, an active service member, or all U.S. veterans. Each sponsored flag includes a yellow ribbon and a card listing the honoree’s name, branch of service, years of service, and a personal dedication. Sponsors can also include a photo if they wish.
