Fino Field Pool Upgrade OK'd By Milford Town Meeting
Milford will spend about $4.6 million to upgrade the town pool following the Town Meeting vote.

MILFORD, MA — Milford's aging town pool will get a major upgrade following a Town Meeting vote this week.
The first night of a Milford Special Town Meeting was held on Monday, where members voted on a host of items, including the $4.6 million Fino Field pool upgrade. The expense was approved 97 to 16.
The architecture firm Bargmann Hendrie + Archetype Inc. in 2019 presented the town with three options for a renovation. The nearly 70-year-old pool is in need of repairs and has to be brought in line with new state codes and the Americans with Disabilities Act.

The town opted for a $3.4 million option, which includes a new splash pad and playground. The $4.6 million price tag reflects a rise in construction costs that have happened during the pandemic.
Member Michael Visconti moved to reduce the cost of the upgrade down to $560,000, but his amendment was voted down with 22 in favor, 89 opposed, according to Town Moderator Michelangelo Bon Tempo.
