Hopedale Library Winter Clothing Drive Benefits Military Families

HOPEDALE, MA — A recent drive in Hopedale seeking winter accessories will benefit service members.

The Hopedale library in recent weeks collected donations of mostly handmade hats, gloves and scarves. The items were given to the Milford nonprofit Thanks to Yanks to be sent to local military families. The library conducted a similar donation drive last year.

Thanks to Yanks, founded by Mike Shain in 2006 to support troops serving in Iraq and Afghanistan, often donates clothing, food and more to local service members, and sending care packages overseas.
