Guests Evacuated, Man Arrested After Alarm at Milford Hotel
Guests at the Doubletree by Hilton in Milford spent some time outside in the cold overnight Wednesday.

Milford Police arrested a New Jersey man Wednesday after they say he pulled a false fire alarm at the Doubletree by Hilton hotel on Beaver Street.
According to a police report, 176 registered guests were forced to evacuate the four-story hotel around 1 a.m. Wednesday when 30-year-old Christopher Cordray of Paulsboro, N.J. pulled a fire alarm near the hotel lobby. Milford Fire responded to the call with ladder and pump trucks.
A hotel manager told police that Cordray came running into the lobby claiming he was being chased and telling the manager to call police. When the manager saw no one following the man and declined to make the call, Cordray ran down the hall and pulled the alarm.

Milford Police Lt. James Falvey said the arresting officer’s report indicated Cordray was “extremely intoxicated,” slurring his speech and smelling of alcohol. Cordray also told the officer he had smoked some marijuana, Falvey said.
Cordray was charged with disturbing the peace and making a false fire alarm. He appeared in court Wednesday morning.
