Medway 'Iron Mom' Dies From Injuries After Being Hit By A Car

Andrea Bosworth, 38, of Medway, who had competed in several triathlons, died Thursday

MEDWAY, MA -- A Medway mother of three who was known as "Iron Mom" for competing in several triathlons died Thursday from injuries she sustained after being hit by a car last month. Andrea Bosworth, 38, was acting as a designated driver on Oct. 22 when she pulled over into the breakdown lane of I-95 in Providence to assist the friend she was driving. A 30-year-old Providence woman lost control of her car and swerved into the breakdown lane, hitting Bosworth, who was standing next to her car.

The Associated Press reported Friday that Rhode Island State Police confirmed Bosworth's death. State Police say they plan to upgrade charges against the woman who hit Bosworth. The driver was already facing drunk driving charges.
