Letter To The Editor: 'Please Vote Yes On Sept. 19'

"A gummy fish or a brownie that looks so tempting to a child could forever change the life of that child or even worse."

MILFORD, MA—The following was submitted by Ron Arpino. Get in on the conversation by emailing charlene.arsenault@patch.com:

Most people have no quarrel with medical marijuana but aversion to recreational marijuana for our children’s safety. The candy and treats that could be left on a table for innocent children to pick up and consume should scare the hell out of all of us including those in favor of recreational marijuana. We keep hearing that liquor and medicine can be left on the table and that is true but those are labeled so parents understand and they do not get left out to endanger our children. A gummy fish or a brownie that looks so tempting to a child could forever change the life of that child or even worse. Children are taught that liqueur /medicine or other types of poisons are dangerous but they do not have the luxury of knowing what could be in a drink or a candy they could pick up off a table purchased at a marijuana shop.

It scares me to see those that want to use marijuana at any cost or endangerment to our children to satisfy their own desire. As a realtor I was just told that a client that was looking for a home in Milford wants to wait now to see how the vote goes before they decide about buying a home in Milford. Do you honestly think these are the only people that will think like that? What does that do to our home sales and values? Do you want to take shots at us for trying to protect our children.
