Mandarin, Big Y, Dunkin' Donuts: Milford Health Inspections
These health inspections occurred at establishments in April and March of 2017.

MILFORD, MA—The following inspections were supplied by the Milford Board of Health:
- Honey Dew Donuts 140 S. Main St. No violations here.
- J.R’s Diner 296 Main St. 3-16-17 Need hotter hot water at both men’s and women’s restrooms needs to be hotter and be sure food products in steel rack are closed tightly during storage.. Hot water violation corrected.
- Garden Pizza 92 Prospect St. 3-13-17 Violations here include the following. The bottom storage shelf across from the three bay sink needs additional cleaning and protect equipment during storage, in the walk in cooler one tray of dough not covered and boxes of cheese need to be stored off the ground, and clean and disinfect the employees restroom.
- Great Taste 201 Main St. 3-15-17 A lot of empty boxes and trash that can be disposed of, clean and sanitize the manual can opener esp. the bit, clean and sanitize two bay sink and the prep sink right next to it, storage room where the bed used to be can be cleaned and better organized, and clean the interior and exterior of the microwave oven.
- Gene’s Variety 80 Water St. 3-6-17 Violations here include the following. Time to do some housekeeping in the basement in the area where the stove is to where the hands sink is located, need visible thermometer in the small chest freezer, and a visible thermometer in the chest freezer at the opposite end, find a better more sanitary method of storing large paddle and strainer which currently are stored above the stove against a concrete wall, clean the exterior of the4 microwave oven in the small pantry area, and in the walk in cooler one food product not covered, and clean interior of both ovens and surface area of the 10 burner stove top. Re-inspected on 3-13-17 and found violations corrected. A big difference.
- Dunkin Donuts 350 E. Main St. 3-13-17 Plastic knives are to be stored so that all handles face the user, and clean the floor under the donut display case.
- Holiday Inn Express 30 Fortune Blvd 3-28-17 Need to repair or replace the countertop that includes the three bay sink this includes the bottom storage area under the three bay sink.
- Honey Dew Donuts 118 Prospect St. 3-28-17 No violations here.
- Milford Mandarin 196 E. Main St. 3-28-17 Violations here include the following. Clean both air vents above the ice machine, label grey barrels (4) containing food products, dismantle the food slicer and clean and sanitize the food slicer, clean the housing bracket for the manual can opener, need one new cutting board due to excessive wear and stains, do not store ice scoop for the bar in the ice bin, and need hotter hot water for the hand sinks in both restrooms. This critical violation was being addressed by plumbers on site. A re-inspection is scheduled for Wednesday. Violations corrected as of 3-30-17 including hot water for the restrooms.
- Garden Restaurant 156 West St. 3-29-17 Need paper towel for the restroom bag of potatoes cannot be stored on the floor and need to clean the floor under the soda system behind the small curtain.
- Rise and Shine/Criterion 375 Fortune Blvd. 3-29-17 No violations here.
- Milford Marriott 10 fortune Blvd. 3-31-17 Violations here include the following. Interior and edges of the stainless steel utility draw used to store utensils and equipment needs to be cleaned due to food debris, clean interior and front and side edges of the convection oven. Boxes of food products cannot be stored on the floor in the walk in cooler, and clean the interior of the Turbo Chef pizza oven at the “Bistro”.
- Big Y 7 Medway Rd. 4-4-17 Violations here include the following. There is a water leak in the piping for the hand sink in the deli prep room, food debris on one knife blade in the deli department that was stored in the knife rack, and hand sink in the produce prep room drains too slowly.
- Stop & Shop 196 E. Main St. 3-31-17 violations here include the following. In the prep room off the deli make sure knives are clean and sanitized before storage in the knife rack, men’s restroom sink needs to be cleaned and disinfected, some walls in the meat room need to be cleaned, and grill/vent area that runs the length of the meat case needs cleaning due to food and other debris under this grate system.
