Mary Bonina - My Father's Eyes: A Memoir

Thursday, October 16, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. at the Milford Town Library, 80 Spruce Street, Milford, MA

A poet, Mary Bonina’s first book of creative non-fiction was published this past year - My Father’s Eyes: A Memoir - which tells the story of growing up, literally being her father’s eyes, doing the seeing for him while he is gradually losing his sigt froma retina condition that eventually leaves him totally blind.

Her dad, Biagio John Bonina, grew up in Milford and lived in town until he married and moved to Worcester.  In her memoir, Bonina relates her experience of acting as a guide for her father, describing the world for him as she helped him navigate streets, rooms, and situations that were always in flux, nurturing skills and abilities that became essential to her adult life and as a creative writer.

Sponsored by the Friends of the Milford Town Library, this event is free and open to the public.
