Medway Secondary Parent/Teacher Org. Hosts 2015 Ski Clubs for students

Parents of high school and middle school students needed to chaperone outings in January and February 2015

MEDWAY, Mass. (November 6, 2014) – The Medway Secondary Parent/Teacher Organization (MSPTO) announces the 2015 Ski Club for middle and high school students in Medway. All ski clubs start in January, with registration deadlines starting November 19th and available on a first-come, first-served basis. All clubs provide at least five outings at an affordable price, first-class bus transportation with on-board movies, and adult chaperones. Students provide their own equipment and must wear appropriate winter apparel.

Fifth, sixth and seventh graders enjoy skiing after middle school for six Fridays in January and February at Nashoba Valley ski area just forty minutes away, and eighth graders also leave from the middle school but ski separately at Wachusett Mountain, both resorts less than an hour away. High school students ski and board on Sundays, leaving at 5:25 a.m. and are skiing in the White Mountains of Waterville Valley NH by morning, returning around 6 p.m. for a full day of winter fun.

“Medway has a long tradition of excellent skiers and boarders who started their lifelong love of these winter sports right at their school’s ski club,” said Frank Rossi, High School Ski Club coordinator. “Ski Club is a great way for kids to socialize with friends and make new friends, all while staying active in the winter. Parents who chaperone come back year after year to not only serve their community, but to meet other parents and get to know these great kids in a non-school setting. I’d encourage anyone thinking about learning to ski or snowboard to take advantage of the cost savings this club has to offer.”
