Menorah Lit In Draper Park Tuesday Evening

Temple Beth Shalom of Milford held its annual Menorah Lighting ceremony at Draper Park led by Rabbi Sol Goodman

The meaning of Hannukah is rooted in Jewish themes and stories going back over two thousand years. The menorah, or Hanukiya (the Hebrew word for candelabra) has become one of the symbols of Judaism, visualized by the nine slotted Hanukkah Menorah. Tuesday evening at 6:30 pm, the first of eight candles was lit by Rabbi Goodman preceded by three blessings. Dreidels (tops) and Hannukah Gelt (chocolate coins) were distributed to all in attendance.
