Milford FY15 Budget Surplus Reaches $5.7 Million
One selectman is calling for some of the unspent funds to be returned to the taxpayers.

After the town left $5.7 million in taxpayer money unspent at the end of fiscal year 2015, one selectman is asking to give some of it back to the taxpayers.
The surplus known as free cash is about $2 million more than last year’s according to the Milford Daily News and is $2.4 million higher than the five-year average.
Selectman Bill Buckley called for half of the unspent funds to be returned to local residents, but such a move would require a vote at town meeting.
