Milford Eyes State Grant For Downtown Park Upgrades
The town could be eligible for up to $1.3 million from the state Community Development Block Grant program.

MILFORD, MA — Milford may be able to get over $1 million in grants from the state to renovate key parks facilities in the downtown area.
Mitch Ruscitti, a member of the Downtown Revitalization Committee, sent a recent memo to the Town Manager Richard Villani highlighting how the Community Development Block Grant program could be of use in Milford.
CDBG is a federal program administered by the state Department of Housing and Community Development that offers grants to cities and towns to improve conditions in low and moderate-income areas.

Milford could get as much as $1.3 million for the program to use on upgrades around town, Ruscitti's memo said. He highlighted upgrades at the defunct basketball courts across from the Milford Youth Center, and improvements at the Town Park.
With permission from Villani and the Select Board, Ruscitti said he would apply for the CDBG funds before the March deadline.
