Milford Hanukkah Celebration Will Mark Start Of Jewish Holiday

The gathering is tentatively scheduled for Nov. 28 at Draper Memorial Park in downtown Milford.

MILFORD, MA — A Milford temple is planning a Hanukkah celebration in the downtown area this month, another signal of a near return to normal following pandemic holiday cancelations in 2020.

Temple Beth Shalom, 55 West Pine St., is seeking permission from the Select Board to set up a menorah at Draper Memorial Park. The temple also wants to hold a gathering to light the first candle on the first night of Hanukkah.

Meanwhile, Citizens for Milford is holding its sixth annual Christmas tree lighting on Dec. 3 after skipping the event in 2020.
