Milford Issues Citations To Coronavirus Rule Breakers
Milford police and the Board of Health have worked together recently to break up gatherings that violate health guidelines.

MILFORD, MA — The Milford Board of Health has issued four citations recently to people hosting gatherings that broke rules meant to keep people safe from contracting coronavirus, officials said this week.
Milford, along with most other communities in the state, has seen a dramatic rise in coronavirus cases recently. The town was listed as a red high-risk community by the state Department of Public Health up until Friday, when the state changed its guidelines for rating coronavirus risk.
Milford is now shaded yellow on the state's weekly list, which is the second-highest risk category — but that doesn't mean cases are falling.

"For instance, Milford’s average daily incidence per 100,000 [residents] was 10 during the week of Oct. 26 when Milford was red, and increased to 13.9 during the week of Nov. 2 when Milford was yellow," the Board of Health said in a statement.
Under a statewide order, social gatherings of more than 10 people indoors and more than 25 people outside are not allowed. Milford police may be called to gatherings that break those rules, and will then pass the information to the Board of Health, which ultimately hands out citations and fines.
