With snow on the way, Milford will institute a parking ban.

Effective at midnight Saturday, there will be an emergency weather parking ban until further notice per Police Chief Thomas O’Loughlin.

Vehicles parked on the street will receive a $25 ticket and are subject to towing at the owner’s expense, according to the Milford Police Department.

Vehicles may park in the municipal parking lots. Parking is not allowed at Town Hall, the Milford Town Library, all public schools, and all town-owned buildings.

The latest forecast from the National Weather Service has Milford receiving 3-4 inches of snow. A Hazardous Weather Outlook has been issued by the NWS, meaning that while snow totals are expected to be light there is a potential for slightly higher amounts of snow, according to the weather service. The greatest uncertainty is along the Mass. Pike, where a slight shift north in the storm could produce an addition 1-2 inches of snow for the area.
