Milford Man Charged with Murder Held Without Bail

William Hodges, 34, was indicted by a grand jury on four charges of first-degree murder.

WORCESTER, MA - A second suspect in a Blackstone murder was arraigned in Worcester Superior court Wednesday.

William Hodges, 34, was indicted by a grand jury on charges of first-degree murder, misleading an investigation, carrying a firearm without a license and carrying ammunition without an FID card. He was ordered held without bail, according to the Milford Daily News.

In November, Hodges and his half-brother Brendan Bates were arrested after police received a report of a shooting in Blackstone. According to investigators, Hodges and Bates drove Kevin Gonsalves to a home under the guise of robbing a drug dealer. The two suspects got out of the car, and Hodges allegedly shot Gonsalves in the head and chest.

Authorities believe the killing was the result of a dispute but will not expand on the nature of the issue.

On Tuesday, the murder charge against Bates was dropped, but he still faces charges for misleading a criminal investigation, carrying a firearm without a license and carrying ammunition without an FID card. Bail was set at $20,000 cash during his arraignment.
