Peter Boucher served in that role for 12 years.
MILFORD, MA — Milford Public Schools Athletic Director Peter Boucher has resigned, the school district announced on Thursday. Now, Steven DiVitto, the Dean of Students at Milford High School, will take the helm as the Interim AD.
Boucher worked as the school system's AD for 12 years and resigned to take the role of Wellness Director in another community. MPS did not share where he would be working.
DiVitto, who will serve in the role for the time being, has worked at Milford High School for several years. He will still stay on as Dean of Students, but in a reduced capacity, shifting some of his responsibilities to other staff in the building.

“I am excited and thankful for the opportunity to help lead the Milford Public Schools Athletic Department for the upcoming spring season. We have many varsity, sub-varsity, and middle school programs ready to get underway soon," DiVitto said. "I’d like to make this as smooth a transition as possible for all of our student- athletes, coaches, and families. I look forward to carrying on the continuity and great tradition of Milford Athletics."
Before becoming Dean, he served as a coordinator for an alternative pathway program for high school students and as a high school teacher for about five years. He attended Milford High School and went on to further his education at Assumption University. He also holds a master's degree from American International College of Special Education.

DiVitto has also served as head coach for the girls' softball team at Milford High School since 2014. He will resign from that position to take on this new role. He also worked as the head coach of the Milford Legion Baseball team for the past 12 years.
During his time as a coach, DiVitto's teams have won state championships in softball , and he was recognized as the state Softball Coach of the Year in 2017.
Milford Public Schools said it was thankful and recognized the many contributions of former AD Peter Boucher.
Under Boucher's leadership, Milford student-athletes and coaches have 39 league titles across sports, 12 state championships, multiple state finalists and "final four" teams, multiple state and New England individual champions, 9 league or state Coach of the Year awards, and Honorable Mentions. Plus, a number of students went on to commit to Division 1, Division 2 and Division 3 college athletic programs.
“On behalf of the Milford Public Schools, our community, and the thousands of student-athletes that have competed as Scarlet Hawks over the past 12 years, I want to thank Peter Boucher for all of his hard work, dedication, and enthusiasm,” said Dr. Craig Consigli, Superintendent of Schools. “The position of Athletic Director requires a lot of long hours and late nights at the fields and in the Gym. Peter has put a lot into the role, allowing Milford Athletics to be a leader in the Hockomock League and throughout the state. Our student-athletes routinely achieve success in competition, but also in the classroom and in the community. Peter has helped to create those expectations and culture. We wish Peter nothing but success in his new role, and thank him for all of his hard work.”
