Milford's Amazon Driver Issues 'Resolved'
Business owners had complained that Amazon drivers in the Industrial Road and Commercial Way area were not adhering to traffic rules.
MILFORD, MA — Milford's problems with Amazon drivers seem to be coming to a close. A representative from Amazon told the Planning Board last week that the company has remained vigilant of its drivers and are abiding by the traffic laws.
Amazon has a distribution facility at 6-12 Industrial Way and was in hot water with neighboring businesses in April. Nine local businesses located on Industrial Road and Commercial Way signed a petition asking the Planning Board to close one of Amazon’s exits on the road.
Complaints in the petition included vans that parked in a way that blocked the road and drivers treating the road as a one way street, acting rudely to other cars. Speeding and a disregard for stop signs were also cited in the petition.

"That has been resolved from what I’m seeing," Amazon regional manager Mannish Annamareddy said, "and I’m pretty confident that the drivers understand the intensity of the situation."
He added that the company has been educating drivers on protocol on the road and has installed flaggers and speed bumps to ensure compliance. Planning Board member Joseph Calagione said he's comfortable with the progress the company is making on the traffic front. "I think the biggest thing is that if there’s an issue going forward, I think now, too, we’ve at least gotten some response, which is more than we’ve gotten before," he said.

Planning Board member Lena McCarthy even offered the company some praise for the flaggers out on the street.
