No CO Detectors Found in Prospect Heights Apartment
Police are still investigating the death of two people.

No carbon monoxide detectors were found by investigators in a Prospect Heights apartment where two residents were found dead.
On Christmas Day, the bodies of Adair DeSales, 47, and Maria DaSilva, 42, were discovered after they were apparently killed by carbon monoxide poisoning. Two people who lived in the other half of the apartment were taken to a hospital and are currently staying in a hotel.
During an investigation, no carbon monoxide detectors were found in the half where DeSales and DaSilvia resided, while two detectors, including one with dead batteries, were found in the other half, according to the Milford Daily News.

According to the State Fire Marchall’s office, Nicole’s Law requires nearly every residence in Massachusetts to have a working detector.
The Worcester County District Attorney’s office is still investigating the deaths and will not announce the cause of death until they obtain the autopsy reports. A spokesperson for the office also refused to comment on the possibility of criminal charges for the landlord.
