Obituaries: John Brenna, Joseph Nogueira, Lillian McTygue

Milford lost three lifelong residents in recent days.

John J. Brenna, 85, died Nov. 30. Born in Milford, he was a foreman at Archer Rubber until his retirement in 1980. He was a lifetime member of Maspenock Rod and Gun Club.

He is survived by is wife, Matilda (“Tillie”), and three sisters: Theresa Brenna, Raffelina M. Brenna, and Mollie Ruscitti. His funeral is under the direction of James E. Kellett and Son Funeral Home.

Joseph A. Nogueira, 89, died Dec. 1. Born in Milford, he attended Milford schools and was a WWII Navy veteran. He was a member of the Milford Portuguese Club, a member of the D.A.V. Chapter #6 and a communicant of St. Mary’s of the Assumption Church.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Anna, three sons, five children and five great-grandchildren. His funeral is being handled by Consigli-Ruggerio Funeral Home.

Lillian “Micky” E. McTygue, 77, died Dec. 1. Born in Milford, she attended St. Mary's schools and graduated with the Class of 1952. She went on to Syracuse University and Boston University. She was head of the endoscopy department until her retirement in 2004.

She is survived by three brothers, four sisters and many nieces and nephews. Her funeral is being handled by Edwards Funeral Home.
