Police Log: Loud 'Bang,' Screams Heard Near Pheasant Circle

The following information was provided by the Milford Police Department. Where arrests are mentioned, they do not indicate conviction.

At 8:17 a.m., Milford Police responded to the area of Hickey’s Liquors on a report of a two-car accident. No visible damage was reported.

At 10:23 a.m., a caller reported the operator of a vehicle in the area of Depot and Central streets had been texting and driving.

At 12:32 p.m., an employee of Bill’s Pizza on Main Street reported someone had called and ordered 10 large pizzas and gave the wrong address. Police responded to the matter and resolved the issue.

At 12:43 p.m., a caller reported someone had tried to file for unemployment under his name.

At 2:23 p.m., a caller reported he had received a call from the IRS to send them money. The caller then went to Stop and Shop to send the money, but believed the matter to be a scam; officers advised that it was most likely a scam and to not send money.

At 3:21 p.m., a female party reported someone tried to cash fraudulent checks. The matter is under investigation.

At 4:28 p.m., police received a report of a two-car accident in the area of Caffe Sorrento on Central Street.

At 5:17 p.m., police arrested Keri Spear, 19, of Milford on an arrest warrant.

At 5:28 p.m., a caller reported someone had been her barn on Eben street earlier in the day.

At 9:40 p.m., a caller reported a large branch was blocking traffic on Beaver Street. The Milford Highway Department responded and removed a tree in the road.

At 9:45 p.m., a caller requested an officer for fraud via Craigslist.

At 10:54 p.m., a caller reported hearing a large “bang” sound and a loud scream coming from behind an apartment complex by the railroad tracks on Pheasant Circle. A second caller reported a similar series of sounds, referring to them as “a loud bang” and a “male scream.” Officers responded and checked the area but found nothing.
