Thousands Without Power In Milford On Wednesday
The outage affected about 17 percent of Milford customers.
MILFORD, MA — More than 2,200 Milford electricity customers were without power Wednesday afternoon, forcing at least one public building to close.
The outage affected 2,308 customers, or about 17 percent of Milford customers, as of about 5 p.m. Wednesday, according to the Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency outage map. National Grid listed an estimated restoration time of about 7 p.m.
The Milford Town Library said shortly before 5 p.m. that it was closing because of the outage.

MEMA’s public outage map is updated every 15 minutes and shows power interruptions by community and utility provider, according to the state. National Grid says its outage map is updated every five minutes and that estimated restoration times are based on the utility’s latest damage assessment.
It's not yet clear what caused the outages. Patch has reached out to the Milford Police Department for additional information.
