Police Log: Milford Man Charged with Assault, Disorderly Conduct

Tuesday, Aug. 5
At 10:47 a.m., a man reported to police that his Social Security checks were missing.
At 11:25 a.m., a caller reported that while shopping at Dollar Tree on South Main Street she lost her wallet, which contained $12 and several credit cards. The woman was advised to call her credit card companies and the bank.

At 12:03 p.m., police responded to the area of Plains Automotive on West Street on a report of a motor-vehicle accident involving possible injuries.
At 12:56 p.m., a caller reported that her tires were slashed sometime during the nighttime hours on Congress Street.

At 1:44 p.m., a caller reported that a man was in the area of Creative Community Childcare on Pine Street and may have been involved in possible drug-related activity. The caller said she asked the man to leave the area and he subsequently became verbally aggressive with her.
At 2:47 p.m., a caller reported a suspicious-looking silver Mini Cooper with no license plates was parked in the area of Purchase Street and Longview Drive.
At 3:10 p.m., officers pulled over a vehicle in the area of Hayward and East Walnut streets; the vehicle was believed to be related in “suspicious activity” at the Registry of Motor Vehicles, and police responded to the RMV for a follow-up investigation.
At 4:04 p.m., police received a report of a UPS package being stolen from a door step on Congress Street.
At 4:07 p.m., the owner of Main Street BP requested officers to remove an abandoned vehicle.
At 4:17 p.m., police received a report of a brown sedan that struck a fire hydrant in the area of Sabtinelli Road. There was no visible damage to the hydrant, according to reports.
At 6:48 p.m., a caller reported a two-car accident near the Royal Buddha on Depot Street involving a white Dodge and a white Ford.
At 8:15 p.m., a caller reported that a vehicle backed into hers while in the parking lot of Stop and Shop on East Main Street.
At 8:20 p.m., a caller reported this his neighbor was intoxicated and trying to attack him with a stick. Officers responded and arrested Renilton Moraes, 49, of Milford, on charges of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and disorderly conduct.
