Police Log: Multiple Reports of Dogs Left in Cars with Windows Up

Sunday, Aug. 17
At 8:20 a.m., Milford police received a report that a traffic light was down at the area of Cedar and Dilla streets after an accident reportedly occurred there. A grey Toyota truck sustained heavy damage to its front end, according to police records.
At 9:09 a.m., a caller reported a hit-and-run accident that occurred the previous evening, when his vehicle was struck.

At 12:44 p.m., a caller reported a two-car accident in the area of Best Buy on Fortune Boulevard involving a silver Chrysler and a gray Dodge.
At 1:59 p.m., a caller reported a man at the 99 Restaurant was trying to take photos of her while she was in line.

At 3:01 p.m., a caller reported a man wearing a white tee shirt and blue jeans was sitting on her front lawn for about an hour and was moving in and out of a vehicle. Officers responded and spoke to the man, who said he was waiting for a friend in the area, according to reports.
At 4:04 p.m., staff at Stacy Middle School in Milford reported a group of people were fixing cars in the school’s parking lot by the playground and asked that the group be removed.
At 4:45 p.m., the Milford Fire Department received a call from a customer of Lowe’s on Fortune Boulevard who said there was a dog in a burgundy-colored vehicle with the windows rolled up and had been there for some time.
At 5:51 p.m., police received multiple calls regarding a dog left in a vehicle at KMart on Medway Road. Animal Control responded to the scene and Medway Police were contacted to send an officer to the vehicle owner’s home.
At 9:02 p.m., a caller reported fireworks in the area of Senate Road.
At 9:56 p.m., a caller reported loud music coming from a red multi-family home on Westley Court. Officers responded and spoke to residents there; the music was subsequently turned down.
