REPORT: Many Milford Police Drug Calls are at Coffee Shops

The new report was reviewed by the selectmen this week.

A new report from the Milford Police Department shows that a large portion of calls are coming from coffee shops and are drug related.

Reviewed by the selectmen Monday night according to the Milford Daily News, Dunkin’ Donuts’ four Milford locations had 50 calls, with 34 coming from 31 East Main Street. Of those 34, 14 were drug related.

At the two McDonalds in town, there were 11 calls and five related to drugs or alcohol.

Selectmen Chairman Brian Murray said the bulk of the problem came from the opiate crisis, calling Milford a microcosm of what is happening state-wide and nationally.
