St. Mary Church to Host Upcoming 'Weekend of Events' in Milford

St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Milford plans to hold a special “Weekend of Events” later this month, organizers announced this week.

Below is a roundup of information provided by St. Mary’s on the Weekend of Events, set for Aug. 16-17.

Road Run/Walk Race

The first event will be a Road Run/Walk Race on Saturday, Aug. 16. The 5K race will begin at 9 a.m. at Fino Field in Milford and ending on Winter Street at the Parish Center.

Parish Fair

On Sunday, Aug. 17, the church will hold a Parish Fair from 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The fair will feature food from surrounding communities, games, a dunk tank, balloons, family pictures, live music and other surprises. Those interested in helping out should call 508-473-2000.

Annual Dinner & Silent Auction

On Saturday, Aug. 16, the church will hold a dinner dance and silent auction to beneft the restoration of the church.

Tickets for the dinner will be $25 for adults and $10 for kids 12 and younger, all of whom will enjoy pizza and movies in the church’s community room.

The event will be run by Young Neighbors in Action; the dinner dance will include a catered meal from Oliva’s Market and music provided by Laura and The Rose Brothers Quartet.

Donations for the silent auction are currently being sought; past donations have included tickets to sporting events, spa treatments, food baskets and gift certificates, among others.
