State Police Recover Young Girl's Missing Stuffed Bear

The state trooper was able to locate the missing bear and reunite it with its young owner.

Tragedy was recently prevented by state police in Milford, at least, what a young child would considered to be a tragedy.

On Dec. 5, the Massachusetts State Police received a report of a missing polar bear. According to police, a family was driving on route 495 in Milford, when a little girl nameEmma lost her stuffed bear when it went out the window and into the left travel lane of the highway.

“Anyone with a child that has ‘that one’ thing that they bring everywhere with them, knows how traumatic this would be to a small child,” state police wrote on Facebook.

Trooper Dan Mather, assigned to the Millbury Barracks, assisted the family, locating the polar bear and returning it to Emma and her family, according to police.

The young girl and her family recently sent a thank you note to Trooper Mather for rescuing the polar bear, noting the bear has not left Emma’s sight!
