Three Companies Bid for Water Plant Contract
Milford Water Company has received three bids from companies who want to build its new water treatment plant. A contract is expected to be awarded next week.

The , a private utility company, announced Friday that it had received three responsive bids from contractors for the scheduled to open in 2013.
The bids were submitted by R.H. White Construction, Barletta Engineering Co. and Methuen Construction, according to David Condrey, general manager for the Milford Water Company. They will be reviewed by Milford Water Company officials and the design firm, he said.
Condrey said last month he had expected construction to cost $15.5 million. The three bids range from a low of $16.8 million to a high of $17.9 million, he said Friday, in an email message. The design for the new plant is already complete.

The new plant will update the water treatment process used by Milford Water but will not increase its capacity to pump water. The new plant will be built on Water Company property on Dilla Street, behind the existing buildings.
