Town Meeting Approves $2.8 Million Offset
The vote came at Monday night's Special Town Meeting.

The Milford tax base will receive tax relief, but not after some debate at town meeting.
Representatives at Monday night’s Special Town Meeting voted to return $2.8 million of the town’s $5.7 million budget surplus to the property tax base according to the Milford Daily News. The vote means the average residential tax bill will drop from a 4 percent increase to 1.7 percent. Businesses will see the average go from a six percent increase to 1.3 percent.
Some members recommended reducing the number to $2 million and using the $800,000 for the Woodland School debt. The meeting however, stuck with the initial figure.
