VIDEO: Celebrating Portuguese Culture

The annual Portuguese Picnic, a celebration of the food, dance and culture of Portugal, attracted more than 15,000 people this weekend.

The picnic at Prospect Heights included traditional folk dances, called Rancho, featuring dancers who first learned the steps at the . Their colorful dresses, made of wool, use the reds and greens of the Portuguese flag.

The event included plenty of food, with the most popular item being traditional linguica sandwiches, grilled on French bread. More than 200 of them went out of the kitchen on Sunday alone.
