2 Killed in Crash Near Milton-Quincy Line

Police say the vehicle hit a tree and caught on fire.

QUINCY, MA - Two people were killed Wednesday morning after a fiery rollover near the Quincy-Milton line.

At 1:27 a.m., State police responded to a reported rollover on Route 28 between Route 93 and Chickatawbut Road. According to a preliminary investigation, the 1999 Mercedes-Benz sedan was traveling north when it failed to make a turn, struck a tree, returned to the road, and caught on fire.

The two front seat passengers, a 29-year-old and 30-year-old from Boston, suffered fatal injuries. A 30-year-old from Methuen in the back seat was transported to Boston Medical Center.

The identities of the men will not be released until after forensic confirmation by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner

The reason the vehicle did not make the turn is under investigation.

The road was closed until 5:40 a.m. for the investigation.
