"This investigation took hundreds of man hours and I am personally grateful to all of our Detectives as well as Troopers assigned to the Norfolk DA’s office. I also want to thank District Attorney Mike Morrissey and his staff for the excellence they brought to this case, as well as delivering the justice sought by the Baskin family. Lead Prosecutor Craig Kowalski and Associate prosecutor Carolyn Hely presented a meticulous case seeking conviction for the death of this young Milton man," Chief Richard Wells Jr. said in a statement.
On April 14, 2013, Baskin was chased into his home by Brown. Inside, he was stabbed 11 times, including the wound to the heart that proved fatal.

Baskin’s father was in their home on Hudson Street that night and heard a loud crash from the first floor. When he went downstairs to investigate, he found his dying son and spoke with him before he was overcome by his injuries. Because the parents had been concerned about Jordan’s behavior, there was an audio recording device in the kitchen when their son was chased into the house by Brown. The jury heard the audio recording of part of the altercation, the father coming to his son’s aid and the man’s last moments.
Brown was arrested after he was indicted by a Norfolk County Grand Jury the following September. District Attorney Michael Morrissey said his office spent five months piecing together fingerprint, forensic and other evidence before Brown was indicted
Brown was arrested on Sept. 26, 2013, following a two-day search.
Brown will be sentenced at 9 a.m. Wednesday morning in Norfolk Superior Court. In Massachusetts, first-degree murder carries a mandatory sentence of life in prison without eligibility for parole
