The Forbes House Museum is pleased to announce its 4th Annual Civil War Concert on Sunday, August 10th from 2:00-6:00 p.m. This year's event will be extra special as the Forbes House Museum celebrates its 50th Anniversary, and the Lincoln Cabin celebrates its 90th Anniversary! Thanks to the generous support from the Milton Cultural Council, the Forbes House Museum will be expanding the day's activities.
From 2-4 p.m. the public is welcome to visit and interact with Civil War reenactors, including members of the U.S. Sanitary Commission, Boston Branch and the Mass 22nd Volunteer Infantry. The Lincoln Cabin will also be open to the public with special tours.
Then, starting at 4 p.m., the band Dixon's Gold will perform authentic Civil War-era tunes from both the North and South. Dixon's Gold is comprised of lead musician Donn Scott Shetler with Jill Gross, Bruce Millard, John Moriconi and Eric Kilburn, and performs at historical events throughout Massachusetts.
Tickets are available in advance; $10 per person for adults; $8 per person for members; $25 for a family of four; $20 for a member family. Children under 5 are free.
