East Congregational Hosts Game Night, Best Pizza Contest

Attendees at the church's Growth and Development team Game Night selected the "Best Cheese Pizza" and "Most Creative Pizza" from five local restaurants.

Nothing shows a sense of community like a game night. Well, maybe a pizza-tasting contest might add a little pep to an annual Milton event.

On Saturday, February 11, the Growth and Development team at East Congregational Church organized its annual Game Night. The evening also featured a โ€œBest Cheese Pizzaโ€ and โ€œMost Creative Pizzaโ€ contest featuring five local eateries.

Milton House of Pizza, Unchained Pizza, Old Railroad Cafรฉ, Montilios and the Villa Rosa all donated pizza and opened their product up to critiques from the 25 judges.

"It was a close contest, but Villa Rosa took the honors for 'Best Cheese Pizza,' and Unchained Pizza won 'Most Creative Pizza' with their Baja Chicken entry,โ€ said Growth and Development team member Michael Maholchic.

Maholchic thanked and applauded all the entries in the pizza taste-off.

โ€œThe truth is, while we had to pick winners, there was nary a slice left over when the crowd staggered out, full of crust, tomato sauce, toppings, and good cheer,โ€ Mahalchic said.

The games were also a highlight of the night with attendees squaring off in everything from an antique wooded set of Pick Up Sticks to more contemporary games like Bananagrams and Uno.

Maholchic added that the event attendees collected $85 for the church scholarship fund.
