A large number of heirloom varieties of vegetables will be available for home gardeners, including 17 varieties of tomatoes.  Also available will be herbs and flower seedlings selected for companion planting.

“Brookwood Community Farm not only improves access to fresh, locally grown, organic food for surrounding communities, we also promote do-it-yourself gardening in your backyard as a tangible way people can be involved in agriculture,” said Maggie Pounds, a Milton native and a second year farm apprentice at Brookwood.  “Growing food is fun, and we want everyone to learn and enjoy the benefits of growing and eating food close to home.”

The pancake breakfast and seedling sale is a fundraiser to support Brookwood Community Farm’s food justice and food access projects.  Brookwood Community Farm donates over 5,000 pounds of fresh produce each year to local food pantries.
