A 90 minute presentation entitled “Injuries and Contact
Sports” will be led by orthopaedic/sports medicine surgeon Ben Thompson, MD. Dr. Thompson is a former team physician for the Pawtucket Red Sox and national champion Auburn University football team, and trained at the renowned Andrews Institute of Sports Medicine in Florida. He will discuss the dangers of concussion, shoulder, knee and ankle injuries, treatment options, long-term recovery and strategies for reducing risk.
