Former Principal Returns to Milton High
Dr. Joseph Arangio was appointed to the position he held for five years.

When Joseph Arangio was principal of , it was a much different place. Serving in the position from 1997 to 2002, Arangio helped with the planning stages of the school building project, but moved on before the construction began.
Now the school has a new look, but is welcoming back a familiar face.
At the School Committee meeting on Wednesday, June 8, Superintendent Mary Gormley introduced Arangio as the new principal of Milton High. He is replacing his replacement, Dr. John Drottar who is retiring after 34 years as a Milton educator.

“You are an outstanding principal and an outstanding addition to our leadership team,” Gormley told Arangio at the meeting.
Since leaving Milton High, Arangio worked on program development and implementation at the Harvard University, Graduate School of Education's summer institutes for principals and superintendents.

Arangio has been a principal since 1986, working at Mario Umana High School of Science in Boston, Boston Technical High School, Langley High School in McLean, VA and Conard High School in West Hartford, CT.
“I’m delighted to be back, I have to be honest with you,” Arangio told the committee during his appointment.
“I was the principal of five different high schools and this was the most special to me.”
