Connecticut Pastel Society announces 2015 RENAISSANCE IN PASTELS

The Connecticut Pastel Society’s 2015 Renaissance in Pastel national juried exhibition will take place at the UConn Stamford Art Gallery, One University Place, Stamford, Connecticut. The exhibit will be open to the public November 9 through December 12, 2015. Admission is free.
The annual Renaissance in Pastel exhibit attracts notable pastel artists from all over the country. More than $10,000 in prizes will be awarded for outstanding new work. Art work has been selected by a jury of artists of national prominence.

Awards jurors are Christina Debarry, Past President of the Pastel Society of America, and
Deborah Quinn Munson, a signature member of the Pastel Society of America and a nationally recognized pastelist.
The show will include work by local artist, Diane Sawyer, of Milton, Massachusetts.
There will be an opening reception on Saturday, November 21 from 12:00 – 4:00 p.m. Artist Julie Friedman, a signature member of the Pastel Society of America, will offer a pastel demonstration from 12:00 – 2:00. Presentation of awards will take place at 3:00 p.m.
If you can’t travel to Connecticut, Diane’s painting is currently on exhibit locally at the Milton Art Center, 334 Edgehill Rd, Milton MA as part of the fall show Open UP. Gallery hours this weekend are Friday 3-5, and Saturday 12-4pm.
