Meetinghouse Bank was pleased to attend the ceremony for Boston's Best Neighbor Award on Thursday, September 26th at Fairmount Grille. There were three winners from Hyde Park: Martha McDonough, Barbara Baxter, and Rita Walsh who coordinated the Neponset River clean up the past two years.
The Boston's Best Neighbor Award was originated by Carlos Vargas, president of Vargas & Vargas Insurance. As Vargas describes, "The purpose of the award is to honor an individual or individuals who has demonstrated special care, concern, and volunteer hours to make their neighborhood a safer, more pleasant, and more friendly community for all of the residents. This individual may have made contributions to other neighborhoods, projects, or citywide concerns."
