Milton Interfaith Clergy Association (MICA) Responds to Vandalism on Holocaust Memorial at Milton Cemetary

The Milton Interfaith Clergy Association condemns in its most powerful terms the vandalism committed on the Holocaust Memorial at Milton Cemetery sometime over the past weekend. It is an act of inexcusable callousness at the least, and violent hostility at its worst, to desecrate any memorial.

We as faith leaders seek to nourish and lift up a community of embrace, and reciprocal trust, for all who visit or live here, and we extend that commitment to the monuments and memorials of our citizens.

We do this especially when those edifices symbolize the suffering of a people, and we condemn this even more vigorously today, in the midst of a hostile national climate that seems to pit fear and division against understanding and reconciliation in active debate.

If justice delayed is justice denied, certainly expressions delayed are expressions withheld; hence, we assert immediately our condemnation of this act, and also our support and solidarity for our Jewish siblings and neighbors.
