Milton Kiwanis Club Wins History Bowl
The Milton Kiwanis Club was victorious in Monday's 350th Anniversary History Bowl.
On the 350th Anniversary of Milton’s incorporation, four teams of Milton residents tested their knowledge of the town in the Milton History Bowl at .
After two rounds of competition, the Milton Kiwanis team of MaryEllen Kelly, Bob Sheffield and Dr. Morton Wolf, with championship round guest team member Hyacinth Crichlow, earned the History Bowl trophy.
In the final round, the Kiwanis team faced the Mayor of Milton team, which featured Mayor of Milton contest winner Phillip Driscoll, John Driscoll, Ann Powers and Richard Powers.

With help from various individuals and the Milton Historical Society, John and Maritta Cronin wrote the questions and hosted the quiz show.
Much like Town Meeting, which is held in the same venue, Town Moderator Brian Walsh kept order—and the score—during the History Bowl.

The championship round ended with the question: Who is the NPR sports host who teaches at Curry College? After the Mayor of Milton team failed to identifiy Bill Littlefield, the Kiwanis team was awarded the win.
During three head-to-head games, which also featured a Milton 350th Committee team and a team from the Rotary Club of Milton, the Cronins covered a wide array of Milton-specific topics.
Several trivia questions touched on street names, while former or current residents and town officials were mentioned. Churches and other buildings in Milton also made the questions list.
The fun-spirited game was highlighted by smiles and laughs both on and off the stage.
