Milton To Launch Municipal Energy Aggregation Program
Good Energy LLC presented the next steps in the process to the Milton Select Board on Wednesday.
MILTON, MA — The Town of Milton is getting ready to launch its Community Electricity Aggregation (CEA) program, which was recently approved by the Massachusetts Department of Public Utilities and is scheduled to begin in late April.
Good Energy LLC, a leader in structuring energy aggregation programs, presented the next steps in the process to the Milton Select Board on Wednesday and mapped out a timeline that will allow the town to utilize more renewable energy in the next few months.
CEA programs enable governments and residents to choose a new electricity supplier that allows for more renewable energy options, local control of electricity supply choices, and an increased knowledge of electricity sources.

The results of these aggregation programs include lower electric rates, a reduction of greenhouse has emissions, and opportunities for economic growth by having more control over the electricity supply.
The Town of Milton is currently working to develop an education and outreach plan for residents and is scheduled to bid on the electricity supply price in early March.

Residents will be sent opt out letter packages in March, which they will have until mid-April to return. Anyone who does not opt out before the program starts will be automatically enrolled.
