Milton Man Charged With Pointing Gun at Two While Drunk

Prosecutors say the gun was shown after the two men asked if the suspect was ok.

ALLSTON, MA — A Milton man was ordered held on bail on charges of pointing a gun at a stranger while drunk.

Andrew Regan, 41, was arrested early Tuesday morning in Allston and charged with possession of a firearm while intoxicated and assault with a dangerous weapon. He was arraigned in Brighton Municipal Court and ordered held on $1,000 bail. If he posts bail, he must have no contact with the victim, remain drug and alcohol-free, submit to random drug and alcohol testing, and refrain from renewing is firearms license while the case is pending.

At about 2:30 a.m. today, Regan was allegedly walking in the area of Linden Street in Allston when he was approached by two men inside a stopped vehicle. When they asked if he was okay, the Regan pulled out a firearm and pointed it at one of the men inside the vehicle. The vehicle quickly drove off and the victim called 911, prosecutors said in court.

Boston police responded to the area and located a Reagan in the area of Harvard and Brighton Avenues. According to prosecutors, Regan was unsteady on his feet and slurred his words as officers spoke to him. He was carrying a licensed Smith & Wesson 9 mm that was loaded with eight rounds of ammunition.

The victim and witness both positively identified Regan as the man who pointed a gun at the victim.

He is due back in court June 13.
