HOLBROOK, MA — A man was killed Sunday afternoon after the vehicle he was in was struck by a Commuter Rail train.

At about 1:20 p.m. on New Year's Day, transit police received a report of a vehicle that was hit by a train in Holbrook. According to a preliminary investigation, a vehicle operated by a 63-year-old man was struck by an inbound train near Union and Water Street in Holbrook. The man was pronounced dead as a result of injuries sustained in the incident.
