Milton Native Back With Red Sox

Alex Hassan of Milton has been called up from Pawtucket.

A Milton native has been called up to the Red Sox after playing most of the season in Pawtucket.

On Wednesday, the Boston Red Sox announced that outfielder/first baseman Alex Hassan was recalled from the Pawtucket Red Sox for the second time this season and added to the 26-man roster.

In his last trip to the majors, Hassan appeared in two games, going 1-for-7 with a walk and a run. In Pawtucket, the hitter leads the team with 104 hits and 29 doubles. His 50 RBIs are good enough to tie for the team lead.

Before playing for the Sox, the Milton native attended BC High School and was selected by the Red Sox in the 20th-round of the MLB Draft.

Despite being active for last night’s game against the Angels, Hassan did not see any playing time in his first game back against the Los Angeles Angles of Anaheim.
