Milton Officer Commended For Detaining Knife-Wielding Suspect
Milton Officer Jamie Mitchell apprehended the 24-year-old Milton resident who was charged with assault with a dangerous weapon.
MILTON, MA — Milton Police Officer Jamie Mitchell was praised for her efforts in apprehending an armed and impaired suspect who fled a crime scene in East Milton. A 24-year-old Milton resident was charged with assault with a dangerous weapon and defacement of property after he was found with a knife.
"A commendable job by Officer Mitchell in using de-escalation techniques by defusing the situation and taking the armed subject into custody without incident," Milton police said. "Just this month, she completed a 40-hour Crisis Intervention Training designed to improve outcomes when dealing with volatile situations."
Milton police said 28 officers have completed the intensive course.

Police said they responded to a disturbance call at an East Milton residence about 10 p.m. on Wednesday when they were told an impaired suspect with a knife had fled on foot. Officer Mitchell located the suspect on a nearby street and was able to detain him.
A knife was taken from the suspect and he was charged following Officer Patrick Nee's investigation.
