Officers Cherry and Conklin located the suspect underneath a car. He had bloodstains on his clothing and his hands were bleeding.

An examination of the crime scene revealed several large rocks on the front stairs and landing of the store. The front door and glass also had blood on them.

An eyewitness, who had called, initially told the officers the man they had in custody was indeed the man seen trying to break into the store.

In a later conversation with the officers, the suspect admitted that he had tried to break into the store and that the cuts were inflicted as he attempted to smash out the glass.

The suspect was placed under arrest for Felony Night Time Breaking and Entering and Malicious Destruction of Private Property.
