Milton Past and Present: Rising Sun Tavern
In the past 350 years, the Town of Milton has changed quite a bit. Today, we look at the Rising Sun Tavern and the funeral home the currently occupies the space.
The Chapman, Cole and Gleason Funeral Home sits at the corner of Canton Avenue and Adams Street. Previously, the property was the Rising Sun Tavern.
Through historical photos from the Milton Historical Society we can see what the Rising Sun Tavern looked in the early 20th Century, compared to what the funeral home looks like in 2012.
The first photo shows the tavern in January of 1915.
